Vacation Observations

So we went on a family vacation. We had a great time. My Aunt and Uncle were great hosts and we had all sorts of fun touring DC and some of the coast.

After 3 months of very clean eating and hard workouts, my weight was down to 190 and I was leaner and stronger than I have been in probably 10 years. It is very noticable to my cowrkers and friends and family. It is great to hear complements. It makes you feel like the hard work is worth it. I enjoy the energy levels and the feeling like I am doing what is best for my health and appearance. During the 8 days we were in DC, though, everything in my patterns changed.

My body sort of flipped out. A typical day was getting up around 9 ... eating breakfast around 10. Maybe a small afternoon snack and dinner and dessert at 8. So I was basically down to 2 large meals consisting of fat and carbs and minimal exercise. For about 5 days, I had a consistent pain in my stomach. It was uncomfortable but not hampering to my fun with the family ... but I knew it was because I had such a drastic change in diet in such a short time. Man ... I felt a lot more tired and worn out than usual. My sleep was impacted big time and I ended up about 3 pounds heavier when it was all said and done.
